Extracurricular and Hobbies

These are some of my hobbies and extracurricular activities I take part in!

Despite being a busy law graduate I always make time for myself and my hobbies. For example, Sundays are spent watching Formula 1. However, Formula 1 is not the only sport I watch. I am a big football fan and even saw my team Luton Town win the playoff final at Wembley to be promoted to the Premier Legaue. Whilst at university, I got involved with societies on campus such as Motorsport, Arts and Crafts, and Vegan and Vegetarian Soc just to name a few. Fundraising and giving back to my local communities is also something I like doing so not only did I get involved with the Raising and Giving Societies but I also volunteered on the committee. That's not the only society committee I was part of though. I was treasurer of the Debate Society and Welfare for the Zero Waste Society.

Im also likely to be found playing The Sims 4, Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley on my laptop or Nintendo Switch, whilst listening to Taylor Swift or some indie music.

Motorsport and Car Shows

Since I was little I have been going to car shows with my family, igniting my love for cars. As I got older my interest shifted from just the shows to racing. Before I knew it I was planning my Sundays around the F1 race schedule. In fact, I am a RaceMaker for Silverstone! I also frequently attend the Perranporth Drag and Drift shows in Cornwall.

Fundraising and Volunteering

My uncle has always had classic cars, restoring them or turning them into pop culture lookalikes such as Mr Beans Mini, Wallace and Gromit van and the Only Fools and Horses three-wheeler. We would take them to car shows to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. At university, I continued fundraising under the RAG Society.

Vegetarianism, Cooking and Baking

I became a vegetarian in my first year of university after noticing how expensive meat was. I spotted an offer on Quorn and was hooked. I didn't miss meat at all. Being veggie I began using lots more seasoning and spices and ignited a passion for cooking and baking. Im still experimenting in the kitchen everyday!

Arts, Crafts and Digital Design

I had always enjoyed being creative and took Art GCSE and Fashion and Textiles A Level. Despite them not being subjects I chose to pursue further academically, I still pursue them as hobbies. Im always coming up with new ideas for sewing projects or drawing away on my iPad.

Research and Debate

Not only was I an active member of the Debate Society being on the committee as Treasurer, but I also took part in mooting competitions. For some reason in nearly every competition, I represented the respondent. I thoroughly enjoyed researching different areas of law and arguing my points across! I've found the experiences really invaluable!

Sustainability and Environmentalism

In the year 2021/2022 I was elected asEnvironment and Ethics Officer! I ran a sustainability fayre, showcasing sustainable and plastic-free products I use, took over university social media and met with University management. The university rose 11 places in the People and Planet University League, becoming the 4th greenest university in the UK!
